What are the benefits of annatto?
Annatto, a coloring produced from the seed of the achiote tree, has long been used in the food industry to add yellow or red coloring to food. It is a staple in Latin American and Caribbean cooking, and is sometimes used as a substitute for saffron.
What are the benefits of beet?
Beets are a great source of vitamins A and C, iron, other minerals, carotenoids, and dietary fiber. Some evidence suggests that beets help maintain a healthy cardiovascular system by supporting healthy ranges of cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
What are the benefits of beta carotene?
Beta carotene is a fat-soluble compound naturally present in many fruits and vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, and greens. It is known for its antioxidant properties and role in skin, eye, and immune health. Beta carotene also helps to neutralize free radicals, which may damage cells.
What effects does natural coloring have on Medifast products?
Some slight changes in the product may be noticed when preparing your Medifast Meals. For instance, you may see a variation in color from packet to packet. There may be a delay in color development, or you may see a striation, or striping, throughout the product once mixed. Additional mixing should remedy this, and none of these effects are harmful.
What are the benefits of turmeric?
Turmeric, a spice commonly found in Indian cuisine, is derived from the root of the turmeric plant. It has long been used in Asian medicine to treat gastrointestinal upset, arthritic pain, and lapses in energy. Some evidence suggests that turmeric may be helpful for high cholesterol or heartburn.
