As with 5 & 1, the mainstay of healthy eating is six small meals throughout the day. In this phase, you'll eat three meals and three "fuelings." Your meals will feature lean protein and vegetables. Your fuelings are low-calorie mini-meals incorporating a range of healthy foods and delicious flavors - or, if you prefer, Medifast Meals.
In addition to lean protein, healthy fats, and the vegetables you desire, you'll be able to enjoy fruit, low-fat dairy foods, and whole-grains that you reintroduced during Transition.
Eat more calories than your body needs, and you'll gain weight; eat fewer, and you'll lose. To maintain a stable healthy weight, determine your body's daily caloric needs using our Maintenance Guide, and use this number as a guide for your daily eating plan.
Eat at least two servings of fruit each day.
