Every aspect of my life was affected by being overweight.
I am 60 years old and have gradually put on weight over the past eight years. Being in sales, I would eat a lot of fast food, on the run, and late at night. I didn't have the time or energy to exercise. By the end of 2010 the weight gain was significant.
I was so discouraged by the way I looked and felt. I wore baggy shirts and larger pants to hide my weight. One day I was picking up a bag of salt for my water softener, and after struggling to get it in and out of the car, I realized I was carrying too much extra weight on my body. That was it. Right then, it clicked, and I knew I had to do something about it.
On my way home from buying that bag of salt, I heard the one of Medifast's commercials on the radio. I remembered hearing them before, but I guess the timing was right! The next day, I went into a local Medifast Weight Control Center and joined before I could talk myself out of it.
When I was younger, I competed in wrestling for 9 years, always lifted weights, and was used to keeping myself in good shape, never having any problem making weight for competition. Over the years, I developed some health issues, which, along with the weight gain, contributed to depression and low self-esteem. I found it difficult to show confidence in front of people, which my job requires.
I feel as good today as I did 25 years ago when I competed in, for the last time, an "Old Timers'" wrestling tournament at the age of 35!
There has been a profound change in my life since losing weight on the Medifast Program. I finally have my life back. My confidence level has been restored. My mind and body have been rejuvenated. I know I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. And it's not bad being able to fit into size 30 jeans. Thank you, Medifast!
