I am so grateful for the Medifast program. This program has allowed me to focus on WHY I eat instead of WHAT I eat by taking the guess work out of meal preparation.
I have been heavy most of my life. It was easier to count on my friend "food" for comfort and support than anything else or anyone else.
I have yo-yoed back and forth so many times; tried so many diet plans, etc. BUT never did I change my eating habits or want to discover WHY I may be eating.
I ate because I was bored, hurt, scared, bored, bored, bored. I was bored because I didn't feel well, couldn't participate in things people were doing, walk my dog, play tennis, swim, hike, etc. Those were the things I wanted to do...when I didn't do them I began getting depressed, wanted to stay inside and just eat and be bored there.
I have been on depression and anxiety medication for about 10 years...what a way to really cover up your feelings, the doses kept getting higher and higher. I was also realizing that the more medication I took, the less I moved, the more I ate because I was bored watching life go by...the more weight I gained and so went the process over and over and over again.
That's the wall I hit. I am part of a cosmetic field and looking put together is very important...I certainly wasn't cute and put together. I was wearing a size 20 suit jacket and a size 22 skirt. I was having trouble with my breathing and the most embarrassing thing was when I noticed I was having trouble fitting in an airplane seat. I had had enough!!
Then I found MEDIFAST. "When the student is ready the teacher appears, right?" Well, I was ready.
On the Medifast program, you just eat when you're told to, eat what you're told to and exercise and drink water and start to move your body.
THEN your body starts to change...when you lose the weight, you gain confidence, and you gain another block you can walk, another lap you can swim.
