It’s been two years now and I am maintaining my new weight!
It was that dreaded time of year, the annual physical. It wouldn’t be so bad if I was in tip-top shape, but that wasn’t the case. Unfortunately, I was a bit short – 5’ 8” - for my weight - 225 lbs - and menopausal on top of it all. Last year I had been advised that my blood sugar was elevated, and quite frankly, I felt lousy.
Dr. Wood delivered the grim news. My blood sugar was very high, and at that rate I was going to be full-blown diabetic within the year. He told me to lose weight immediately and get down to around 143 lbs. I had tried to lose weight the month before my physical, and, with great sacrifice, only lost 2 pounds. My doctor explained that due to my high triglycerides and high blood sugar, it was three times harder for my body to lose weight.
He then confidently told me that he had something that would get the weight off. It was Medifast, a diet plan that consisted of five meals per day. He recommended three shakes, one soup and one bar, and told me they were quite tasty, but more importantly, they worked.
I reluctantly committed to trying it for 30 days. I started Medifast that day, seriously wondering how I would make it through 30 days. I immediately went into withdrawal from lack of sugar, popcorn, mashed potatoes and cookies. But thanks to my husband’s support, we made my “diet” our top priority. Thank goodness we did.
Now, it’s two years and several hundred Medifast meals later, and I’ve shed 80 pounds and kept it off. I am now enjoying much better health and energy, am able to wear cute clothes, and can now jog, swim and workout.
When some of my friends saw my results they couldn’t believe it! Some of them decided to try it as well, and we all lost lots of weight. It’s much easier to do this with your friends. It’s great to have their support and understanding, plus, I learned a lot from them. Michelle taught me that every soup tastes better with Herb de Provence Spices®. Pam introduced me to diet A & W® root beer, a delicious treat.
When I started to lose weight, certain people would say, “Oh, some liquid diet??? You’ll just put the weight back on.” Well, it’s been two years now and I am maintaining my new weight. I use Medifast for weight control, and have decided to get these last 10 pesky pounds off to place me in the 130’s world. And today, it’s even easier to lose weight with Medifast because they have so many more delicious meals.

Success Tips
- Package several days worth of meals (5 per day). Then each morning simply grab a stack and there’s your day's food. A surprise each day and you break the habit of thinking about “what to eat” throughout the day. It’s all set for you.
- Be generous with flavorings and spices and add diet drinks to shakes for variety.
- When you start, advise friends and family that you’ll be missing meal get-togethers, but will join them afterwards. Take a hiatus, it’s easier.
- Exercise as you go. The muscle tone will look great as the weight comes off.
- Use lots of lotion and oils; pamper yourself. Your skin needs to make adjustments too.
- Keep busy. I got involved with lots of hobbies like knitting, cross-stitching and quilting. It really helps to keep your hands busy.
Why Medifast is a great diet plan:
Other diets use pre-packaged food, and there you are caught up in the food thing again. You need to completely break away from food: fixing food, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Your old patterns made you fat, it’s time for a complete change. Medifast has all you need in five packages each day. There’s great variety, and they’re yummy, too.
Counting calories sounds easy, but it’s not. And there you are obsessing about food again. After being on Medifast for a few weeks you will look at food in a completely different way. And, quite frankly, you’ll be appalled by how much we all eat. Just observe portions and menu selections at restaurants.
Let’s face it, we love to eat, and that’s why we got fat. Medifast lets you break away from those bad patterns, and enables you to focus on becoming healthy once again.
And, it’s a guaranteed “it will work” program. |
